Inspired by the Danish art of “hygge” (the Danish word for cosy), the owner of this wonderful shed has created their own warm and relaxing haven. A comfy sofa, richly-textured throws and floor coverings, interesting pastimes (books, puzzles, games, scrapbooks and an ever-growing family tree) are lit by atmospheric lighting. Warmed by a log burner, the owner and her pets enjoy the cosy delights of a chilly afternoon. Tea, cake, good company and a great book. Who could ask for more? Steve Read is a self-taught artist who started work as a mural designer but has since developed a very broad portfolio ranging from beautiful fairytale and fantasy landscapes to wildlife and underwater scenes. His style is characterised by strong composition, incredible attention to detail and superb use of colour. Steve lives on the East coast of England, not far from London.
